Upon reaching the magic “100 days” milestone in his presidency, Barack Obama came forth with positive statements interspersed with expressions indicating that there is much yet to do and he isn’t satisfied yet, but has high hopes for what will be accomplished under his watch in times to come.
One thing mentioned was his touting of a “new foundation” for growth. In construction of buildings it is generally agreed that the foundation is extremely critical.
Likewise, the formation and establishing of a culture requires a proper foundation if it is to thrive and survive. This demands a system of values and principles which insure the soundness and reliability of the foundation upon which the culture stands.
President B. Hussein Obama has provided undeniable evidence that the “foundation” he chooses to establish for our republic is humanistic in its design and purpose. He is a prime example of what the Bible warns about in the words of Paul the apostle in his letter to the Colossians (Col. 2:8):
Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.
Here is a man who places no priority on the worship of Almighty God, Who in grace and mercy, raised this nation up from its humble beginnings and enabled it to become the greatest and most powerful nation on the face of planet Earth!
Here is a man who has by his signature on documents and by the appointment of many to powerful posts in his administration sent a clear message that human life is very cheap and a commodity which can be extinguished as easily and indifferently as one blows out a candle!
Here is a man who is resolved to usurp all the power he can and has already demonstrated that lust by what has happened in the banking and auto industries! And as he pursues his quest for more power, he is totally ignoring the clear principle taught in God’s revelation:
"The Spirit of the LORD spoke by me, and His word was on my tongue. The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spoke to me: 'He who rules over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God. And he shall be like the light of the morning when the sun rises, a morning without clouds, Like the tender grass springing out of the earth, by clear shining after rain.'” --- 2 Samuel 23:2-4
The foundation Obama and his blind followers is laying is well described in the statement made by Jesus that you saw at the beginning – a refusal to come to Him, listen to Him, and obey Him is to lay your foundation on sand. The result in time is not hard to imagine and the destiny of those choosing to build on sand is powerfully described by Jesus -- when the storm beat upon the house, it fell, and great was the fall of it!
Obama’s recent speech at Georgetown University symbolizes very well what his approach is when it comes to establishing our republic’s foundation. The White House insisted that all symbols on the backdrop behind the president be covered while he was on stage. That included the IHS Greek letter symbol for Jesus Christ which appears in Christian churches everywhere.
So, symbolically Jesus was blotted out while the president did his speech thing! It’s not outside the realm of real possibility that the day will come when this president, because of the intense calamities taking place now and more in the future, will make an appeal for people to pray and call on God. What do you suppose will be God’s response in light of the fact that His standards for establishing a solid foundation for a nation have been consistently rejected by that nation’s leadership?

Barack Obama, moderate democrat, overly cautious. He is, of course, the greatest threat to civilization, EVER.

It sure takes a lot of guts to do your own style of yadda stuff and do it anonymously without signing your name! Here's how it is whether you like or not -- we can choose to face reality and truth in this life or face it less than 2 seconds after we die. Whatever we have made our little judgment calls on during this life will be of little significance when we exit this life because the talking will be over and the listening will begin in the presence of the One Who made our life and existence possible!
who's to say who or what "the one" is that you speak of? is he/she/it the god of the christians or the jews or the muslims? what is the fate of those raised hindi, and what was the fate of the countless native americans who died believing in multiple gods/spirits? i could go on and on. do you honestly believe that everyone who doesn’t believe in the bible is going to hell? if we were created in god’s image, and if our emotions and our innate concepts of right and wrong are a reflection of that, then i cannot fathom a creator who would condemn someone who just happens to be born in iraq or afghanistan to eternal anguish just because of the beliefs instilled in them by their ancestors. that worldview just seems horribly wrong and narrow-minded to me.
First of all the unborn are not imaginary to those who think that they may be. I had a miscarriage,saw the results, the tissue was not imaginary, it was a small child and I grieved the loss.
Second: Being pro life means someone has to champion the rights of those who cannot speak for themselves. The unborn, who are not imaginary have no voice and cannot cry out. During the regime of Hitler, anyone considered a weight on the perfect society was exterminated, Jews, Jehovah Witnesses, gypsies, the handicapped...where does it end if we start on the slippery slope and rationalize the merits of the circumstances of conception?I don't have the answers to the problem it is bigger than me, but sarcasm and meanspiritedness will neot bring people together at the table for discussion to figure it out.
Third: being a Christian does not mean you are a member of the religious right and more than being a muslim means you are a terrorist. Some Christians are members of other political parties.
Fourth:The President in his first 100 days has not pulled out the troops. I am not privy to the "inside" information as to what is going on there. I wish we weren't there but we are. If it were that simple, the new politcal powers would restore right in the world and bring the boys home and peace to the mideast...the problem is bigger than a change in parties I am afraid.
Fifth: We are "judged" by the amount of truth/light revealed to us and how we choose to act on it. I am not the judge, it is not my place. Folk decide if they want to move toward peacemaking and agape or if they want to move in the other direction in their own conscience. I don not know where a person truly is as the emotions are deceptive, just ask someone who is bi-polar and having a manic or depressive episode. Their emotions are all over the map and their behavior as well. Emotions, feelings have nothing to do with it.
BHO has been worshipped by some as the savior of the USA. I think as time passes people will come to see that he puts his pants on one leg at a time just as GWB did or Clinton or all the other presidents for that matter. They don't save us. The only thing that "saves" us is moving towards the light of truth. I believe that light has already come into the world in Jesus the Christ. MAny who profess to be christians are only Christians by birth and culture, not by belief. Being a Christian also does not mean you have become perfect, just forgiven, like the thief on the cross to whom Jesus said, "Today you will be with me in Paradise".
Your second post starts with, "Who's to say..." There is only One Who is qualified to address such issues. His name is Jesus Christ -- literally God revealed in human form. Check His exclusive claims in the Gospel of John in the New Testament -- each starts with, "I am...". He will be the One before Whom all humans will stand to be judged. He is the One Who sacrificed His life for the sins of the entire human race so that total forgiveness is possible. That includes my sins and yours. His impact on human lives for 2,000 years cannot be comprehended. But everyone who has encountered Him, has repented of sins and received Him as Savior and Lord has never been the same again. And these transformed lives include those who have been Hindu, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist etc. Talk to any one of those people and see what they say about Jesus and ask them whether they want to go back to the former way of life and the "religion" they used to have and see what they say. Further, in spite of the rampant skepticism in our nation and our world, I know what Jesus Christ has done in my own life and the change He brought about. We are in daily communication -- He is real and alive -- and someday will return to this planet to take full control -- no government will delay that event by so much as one second! It all again comes down to choice on our part -- we can make a positive response or a negative response. Jesus is a gentleman among other things -- He'll never hold a gun to our heads and force us to see things His way.
i'll concede the fact that you will never see things my way, and i will never see things yours. however, here's one more hypothetical: what if YOU were born to an african family that practiced traditional, african religion? what if YOU just happened to be brought into this world as an aboriginal? what if YOU went your whole life never being exposed to or taught the stories of jesus christ. your culture and your upbringing would undoubtedly have a profound affect on you, and you would likely carry on the traditions of your ancestors, wouldn’t you? these people believe in what they practice just as much as you believe in what you do. what is the fate of their souls? do you think they are destined to eternal damnation? if so, then an all-knowing god has essentially sentenced all of these people from different cultures, with different belief systems, to burn in hell from the moment of their birth. people like you however, brought into this world by anglo-saxon protestants, have a much better chance of hearing and accepting “the truth.” so following that reasoning, wouldn’t you conclude that you are more valuable to and more cherished by god than those other poor souls? this is the thinking that allowed people to justify slavery not too long ago. what does it matter if they are “lesser than.” and 30 years from now, people will be looking back on those currently trying to stifle gays and lesbians as bigots, just as we perceive the slave owners of old. Granted, if I had been born into a culture where there had been no exposure to Christianity and its message whatsoever, I would have lived and practiced whatever had been accepted by the culture of which I was a part. How does God deal with such situations? There is brief mention of that in the book of Romans, chapter 2 about those who have not had the full revelation, but do have conscience and are judged in the light of that. Not an easy thing to try to understand. But on other hand, basic Christianity teaches on basis of Scripture that God's judgment is always fair and just -- God makes no mistakes -- His love goes out to all people and that has been demonstrated in countless ways. So far as Hell is concerned, it was never designed orginally for human habitation -- the original intent was that it be solely for Lucifer and his rebel angels, all of whom have not the possibility of redemption nor any hope. But Lucifer was determined to sabotage God's creation and the disaster of Eden with the fall of Adam and Eve took place. But the tragedy did not take God by surprise -- His plan of "rescue" was already in place before the creation of the world - the sacrifice of His own Son for the sins of the human race. It's a truth that is rejected by many - part of the problem is that it is a faith experience requiring a positive response to what God has revealed -- walking in the "light" that a person receives at a particular moment in his or her journey in life. God holds us accountable for what light we have received. And the Judge of all persons will be the One Who gave His life as a sacrifice for all - none other than Jesus Christ Himself! Again, remember, the final judgment will be just and it will be fair. In these days of corrupted "justice" systems all over the world, our own included, it is very difficult to grasp the concept of fairness in administering true justice, but God does it.
