The Ultimate Low!

During the reign of the Clintons years ago this item circulated for a while – a question was asked, “What is the difference between the Clintons and the RMS Titanic?” Answer was, “The RMS Titanic ran out depths to which it could sink!”

There are almost countless ways by which human depravity is demonstrated and how low a person can descend when it comes to involvement in something that is highly offensive to a holy God Who has us under surveillance at all times.

In recent days within driving distance of the place where we live the following have been reported:

  • 2 females have been charged with raping young children
  • a male has been charged with sexual abuse of a child
  • a man has been charged with the shotgun slaying of his estranged wife in a McDonalds parking lot
  • a man shot his wife and then himself – they were the parents of two young children who were fortunate to be with grandparents at the time of this tragedy
  • a 12 year-old took his shotgun and shot his father's pregnant girl friend to death while she was sleeping. He is being charged as an adult in this case, although his lawyer wants this changed so that he is charged as a juvenile. In Commonwealth of PA in a case of murder such as this a juvenile can be charged as an adult.
  • a young female student took a picture of herself in the nude and then text messaged it to a boy who in turn shared it with a lot of other students via cell phone – it seems the administration of the school where this happened was more than a tad unsettled by this development

In another part of the country in a small community a 15 year-old boy and a 13 year-old girl made a video recording of their act of sexual intercourse and then shared that recording via cell phone with other students in their school. The community and school officials were in a state of shock on this one – well, hello! Guess who has been encouraging and teaching the little tykes how to do it – monkey see, monkey do, you know!

The lowest of the low, however, is when an effort is made to protect lives of unborn children and someone blocks such an effort.

It happened in the state of Illinois when legislation was proposed to do whatever necessary to preserve the life of an unborn child who should happen to survive a botched abortion – once in a great while it does happen and there are a very few persons today who can testify that they are survivors of the murderous attempt on their lives! But the effort in Illinois was stonewalled by an arrogant legislator named Barack Obama whose attitude was, “If that baby should survive the abortion intended to kill it, then let it alone – don’t touch it until it dies!”

At least one nurse has testified of the horror involved when such an occurrence took place – of witnessing a baby surviving an abortion and no person was permitted to lift so much as a finger to take some form of action which would insure that the life of that intended victim would be preserved!

Heartless? Cruel? Totally lacking in any compassion whatsoever? Without a doubt, yes, and when you see a picture or a video of the president, dare to remember that here is a person who has sunk as low as it is possible to go in regard to his attitude toward unborn children. He has put together the most pro-death administration in the history of the United States, and then has the audacity to throw out the term, “God bless the United States of America!”

It becomes more obvious as time progresses that he, his administration and the country he is attempting to lead will learn the hard way that you cannot pursue a policy that intentionally disrupts the plans of Almighty God for human life and get away with it!

It is now time that the name Clinton as used in connection with a comparison to Titanic earlier should be changed to Obama who has revealed his ability to sink to the lowest depths when it comes to defining human depravity and what it is about!

"This is the interpretation of each word. MENE: God has numbered your kingdom, and finished it; TEKEL: You have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting; PERES: Your kingdom has been divided, and given to the Medes and Persians." --- Daniel 5:26-28

Is there some reason in particular you're bringing this up now?

from factcheck.org http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/obama_and_infanticide.html :

"Obama's critics are free to speculate on his motives for voting against the bills, and postulate a lack of concern for babies' welfare. But his stated reasons for opposing "born-alive" bills have to do with preserving abortion rights, a position he is known to support and has never hidden."

This is not the first time the issue has been raised. But it will continue to be addressed because with at least 50 million or more unborn victims of the U.S. version of Holocaust, it is becoming quite obvious that this nation will pay a price that we are incapable of beginning to comprehend! You are aware, are you not, that Almighty God is going to respond to this abomination? An even greater tragedy is to have a president who is totally blind to this prospect and in a very real sense, he is one of many who has helped prepare the way for this very negative response from God! And what do you suppose he will do when that response becomes most evident -- go on TV and tell the citizens that we need to pray? Review what God told one man about prayer in Jeremiah 7, 11, and 14. This man lived in conditions strikingly parallel to what we are witnessing at the present time.

The UMC position on abortion

http://archives.umc.org/interior.asp?mid=1732

includes this:

"We call all Christians to a searching and prayerful inquiry into the sorts of conditions that may warrant abortion."

and this:

"a decision concerning abortion should be made only after thoughtful and prayerful consideration by the parties involved, with medical, pastoral, and other appropriate counsel."

After all the rhetoric on the UMC position on abortion, any woman can get an abortion rather easily on grounds that it will damage her psychologically -- it will bring about undue hardship -- she cannot accept the added responsibility or whatever, with excuses being virtually unlimited. The bottom line question is -- why do not our United Methodist leaders express at least some concern about the "shedding of innocent blood?" They will not hesitate to give us lengthy tirades on the evils of gambling -- crusade loudly for an end to the death penalty in the criminal justice system -- and as noted in postings here, we crusade also for mosquito netting in Africa to combat malaria because over a million children die a year from malaria within that continent! Tell me, what do you hear from UMC leadership about the fact that over 1 million unborn children are mutilated and murdered in their mothers' wombs each year in these "civilized" United States?

"why do not our United Methodist leaders express at least some concern about the "shedding of innocent blood?""

They do. They says, "Our belief in the sanctity of unborn human life makes us reluctant to approve abortion." (http://archives.umc.org/interior.asp?mid=1732)

"what do you hear from UMC leadership about the fact that over 1 million unborn children"

Actually, I hear more about abortion rights than any anti-abortion sentiments withing the UMC and the United Methodist women.

I don't know that the UMC has a position on when life begins in the sense of warranting legal protections. I've looked but found nothing. Do you know of an official UMC position on that particular issue?

When I mention about UMC leaders speaking on issue of abortion, I mean that they intentionally speak out at annual conference sessions, write in protest to publications, etc. Bishops, as I mentioned, do not hesitate to speak on various social issues loud and clear, but on the murder of unborn children, if anything, they simply say they agree with the BOD on the issue, which is what one female bishop told me in a letter. So I guess that if the General Conference voted that all UM's should go to and jump off the Golden Gate Bridge, then that female would go along without any objection, as would a mass of UM's!

On the issue of when life begins, I have not seen any real definitive statement on that within the Social Principles, but then I haven't done an intense search on that just lately.

To try to bring this all together, and so you know where I am coming from on this -- I maintain on the basis of Scripture that this country is on the very brink of facing judgment from God due to its persistant policy of destroying about 25,000 unborn children every week of the year! Past cultures which adopted a low view of human life paid a high price for that deadly error and so shall we in the United States.

The UMC position does not see abortion as "the murder of unborn children". In fact the UMC seems to support abortion rights, as I read the position.

"I maintain on the basis of Scripture that this country is on the very brink of facing judgment from God due to its persistant policy of destroying about 25,000 unborn children every week of the year!"

Yes, I see that. It is a position completely at odds with the official position of the UMC. I don't really see much of a move in the UMC (during this past General Conference, for example) to take a clear anti-abortion rights position. I didn't notice nearly as much discussion on abortion at General Conference (I watched the live feed and read the reports online) as I noticed discussion on the issue of homosexuality.

I'm just not seeing any organized movement within the UMC to get the abortion position changed. That doesn't mean it's not there, of course, just that I'm not seeing it.

Agreed -- nothing in the BOD would remotely suggest that "officially" the UMC sees an act of abortion as the murder of an unborn child. Those who most vehemently support abortion "rights" see only a mass of tissue and blood to be as easily discarded into a garbage can as a tissue you have used to blow your nose! Once the reality that you are dealing with a human whom God claims to be forming in the womb sets in, then one's view of abortion as being quite acceptable will undergo a radical change!

Agreed again on any significant move in the UMC to see Roe v. Wade reversed. It simply isn't there. A few "voices" here and there speak against it, but those voices are not from leadership at the episcopal and superintendency levels!

If anything, those of us who attempt to speak up and be counted are written off as a bunch of fire-breathing wild eyed fanatics who toss Molotov cocktails into abortion clinics.

I personally am about fully convinced it will take direct intervention from God Himself to stop it, and that He will do one of these days.

The possible future appointments to the Supreme Court by B. Hussein Obama also are a solid reason as to why I mention God's direct intervention in this matter.

That's why I see the "when does life begin" question as the most important one. That's the question: At what point are you dealing with a person?
