"Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal….." --- opening statement of the Gettysburg Address by President Abraham Lincoln
“Well the first thing I’d do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act.” --– statement by presidential candidate Barack Obama in a speech to a Planned Parenthood group.
It was said recently on a cable news network that Barack Obama is to be compared to Abraham Lincoln. Earlier statements indicated that even Obama wants to be viewed as a kind of 2nd Lincoln to come out of the state of Illinois. It has been noted that both practiced law and that both came from the state of Illinois, although B. O. is not native born to the state – in fact there are questions as to where this guy really was born.
To compare Barack Obama to Abraham Lincoln and attempt to practically make them identical twins in their political philosophy is to take a plunge deep into a fantasy land of fairy tales, make believe and where Puff the Magic Dragon rules on a throne!
If you can make
- A toadstool the same as a Portobello mushroom….
- A bowl of sewage from a citizen’s septic tank the same as a steaming bowl of chicken noodle soup….
- A teaspoon of Pennzoil the same as a teaspoon of Robitussin Cough Syrup….
- A fifth of Jack Daniels the same as a liter of Coca Cola……
- A bottle full of d-CON pellets the same as a bottle full of Vitamin C tablets…
- A room full of carbon monoxide the same as a room full of oxygen …..
- Pitch black midnight the same as bright daylight on a cloudless day at high noon...
then, miracle of miracles, Obama and Lincoln are of the same mold – 2 peas out of the same pod – indeed, they are twins!
However, being the kind of man he was, it is safe to assume that Abraham Lincoln would never have put his imprimatur on a national policy which destroys about 25,000 unborn future citizens a week throughout the year. But Barack Obama does and will see that this continues to take place unhindered by placing his signature on the Freedom of Choice Act.
It is also clear that Lincoln would not have approved a hedonistic view of life adopted by not a few U.S. citizens which says I can have a sexual romp in bed or somewhere else and if I make a baby in the process then I can choose to kill and dispose of it because my president says its OK to do so – it’s my “constitutional right" and he has gone on record that my right to murder my unborn child will remain unchanged!
The sharp contrast between Obama and Lincoln is seen in Lincoln's opening statement of his Gettysburg Address -- "...that all men are created equal." God does the creating of individuals in the womb -- He said so in Jeremiah 1:4,5. Our historic documents stress at one point that all should have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
But Obama draws a line on this -- according to him there are thousands that are not created equal and they DO NOT have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness! His past actions on the issue of human life and planned future action indicate indeed that he is as different from Abraham Lincoln as night is from day, or any of the other contrasts previously mentioned above.
It is a slap to the face and a knee in the groin to Abraham Lincoln to say that B. Hussein Obama is another Lincoln from the state of Illinois.
Finally, just remember that Illinois politics in Lincoln's day did not smell the same as it does today either!
Moreover Manasseh shed very much innocent blood, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another, besides his sin with which he made Judah sin, in doing evil in the sight of the LORD. --- 2 Kings 21:16
